Moulin de la Veyssière
Virgin oils of character since 1857
The place
A 16th-century watermill, the Moulin de la Veyssière sits at Neuvic, in the heart of the Périgord blanc. It has belonged to the Elias family since 1857 and is now the last working walnut-oil mill in the Vern valley.
The walnut and hazelnut virgin oils are pressed by hand, through a method that belongs to the house alone. Respect for Périgord traditions and a strict eye on the raw material keep the quality steady. The fruit comes solely from local growers.
What you find here is a living piece of heritage. Fans of old stones will enjoy the building as much as anyone after a serious oil. Guided tours of the mill make the know-how plain.
