The place
Distillerie Combier is one of the oldest distilleries in the Val de Loire. Founded in 1834, it has been in continuous operation in the centre of Saumur ever since. Its position at the heart of the "Jardin de la France" gives it ready access to local fruit and herbs.
Across nearly two centuries, the master distillers here have built up a distinctive *savoir-faire*. By turns travellers, gardeners, cooks, engineers and quiet inventors, they have kept on experimenting. Their elixirs make up a remarkable body of work, recognised since 2016 by the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label.
