🍷 Winemakers

Independent winemakers, plots on a human scale, hand-picked or low-intervention vendanges. We look for cuvées that tell us about a soil, a cépage, a season, rather than a commercial strategy.

Frequently asked questions

About winemakers

What is an independent winemaker?

A winemaker who grows their own vines, vinifies their own grapes and sells the wine themselves, with no middleman. The opposite of the négoce model, where wine is bought in bulk from growers and blended under a brand.

How do you visit a domaine?

Most welcome visitors by appointment. A phone call or email a few days ahead is usually enough. Avoid August and the harvest weeks, both very busy.

What about wine tourism?

Many domaines offer tastings, workshops and guided tours, sometimes with accommodation. Check the listing or contact the estate directly.
